Tea Bags and Stamps

I am a little late in switching over from the day planner
I made last year (left) to the one I made for this year.

But it is ready to go for February 1st
which is the day I go back to work
after spending the month of January playing and relaxing.

I decorated the cover and pages with my hand carved stamps.

The system I used last year worked great,
so I am continuing in the same format.

I carry around 3 months of pages at a time,
and can add and remove the months of pages as needed.

A system to help keep me smiling and organized for the year!

Getting Organized?

Sheesh!  I have been trying to get organized for so long now,
and it just isn't working!

But I have finally finished this day timer
that will hopefully help someone stay organized.

This day timer comes with a stack of little booklets
- one for each month.

The beauty of this organizer is that
you carry around three months of pages at a time,
and when the month is over you slide the old pages out
and move the new month of pages in.
(moving the next months to the correct spot of the 3 slots)

The pages are decorated with my hand carved stamps

and have the days of the month written
in the top corner of the page.

The names of the month is written
on the first page of each month booklet.

The days of week can be added as the year rolls along
- which makes the daytime ready to be used
next year or the year after, or the year after that.

An elastic cord wraps around the 3 month planner

I made myself this one last year

and have loved using it for almost a year now.

I have another one finished .....
but the light was bad today when I tried to take pictures of it
But hopefully I can share it with you soon!

AND ..... I finally managed to add a few cards and a day timer
to my Etsy shop - and I will add some more items soon!

Working towards being organized!

Day Planners

I am a planner
I (like most people) have a busy life, and I love to stay organized.
And so I created some day planners.

These planners are soft covered books
that I made with layers of fabric, paper, glue, etc,
and 2 were decorated with tea bags and my hand carved stamps
There final coat is a layer of wax that makes them feel so lovely to hold.

When closed they can be secured with an elastic,
that also holds a pen in place along the edge of the pages.

When opened there is a pocket page, that I have placed a 2015 calendar inside
but really it can hold whatever is needed.

The pages have the months and dates written on but not the days of the week.
In this way the books can be used for this upcoming year or a future one.
The user can always write the days of the week in, if they desire.

At the back of the book there is another pocket for tucking bits and pieces .

This one was made with fabric on the outside (versus tea bags as the other two were)
and decorated with a leaf stamp and some of my sketches.

But inside, the pocket and the pages are the same.

I am hoping to add a couple of these to my Etsy shop in the next day or two.

(as well as offer 15% off everything in the store, and raise some funds for some bikes)

My New Idea

I decided to try making a small day timer
In which you only carry around three months of days at a time.

Each page is one day
&
at the beginning of the year you carry around January, February and March.

Here are the other nine small booklets for each month

At the end of January,
you remove the filled January booklet,
move February and March forward and add April to its place.

A small day timer
that is easy to carry around,
and still contains lots of space to write

I have finished two day timer agenda books. The face one I made quite some time ago. The yellow one I started some time ago as well, but finished it this morning. The reason it took so long was because I didn't like it. It didn't look anything like it does now.

Underneath the final layer is layers of papers with text and flower drawings. Yesterday I painted over the whole thing - inside and out - mucked around in the paint for awhile, let it dry, added an image that I mucked around with some paint, and then sewed it all together. I like it now.

Inside I have written the days of the month - by not writing the days of the week, the book can be used for any year.

A picture of the back of the face book. I would like to make a couple more of these, but don't know if I will have time. For today, I am going to move on to making some cards......
