Findings

I called it  findings
in the hope that I could
find some time
 to find the creativity
that lately seems to
be slipping through my fingers.

I worked so hard to find it
and now I have to work hard to keep it.

Coming Into Rhythm

There has been a big change in the rhythm of my life.
Work has shifted into the busyness that summer brings with staff and visitors
Home's rhythm has changed to include the busyness of the daughters returned from their winter at school
Forest fire season has begun, which changes the rhythm of the times I spend with the fire fighting hubby.

I hope that I am beginning to find the rhythm of the season
in order that I find some time to create.
For create I must, or else I am not the whole that I am meant to be.
The whole that keeps me happy.

I found some time to paint this week.
And I will continue to work towards
coming into a comfortable rhythm.

Finding My Creativity

It has been so long since I have had a chunk of time to be creative.
But it finally happened - This week I had some time - but I couldn't figure out what to do.
I tried and tried  to be creative but it just wouldn't come.
I guess I am out of practice.

I finally made these cards, using some dyed tea bags, and my hand carved stamps.
and although they are okay
they have not satisfied my need to create.
I will continue to work to find something more creative to sink my whole self into
or at least that is what I hope.

Rustic Wear

I have never been one for jewelry that sparkles and shines,
but the idea of these rustic necklaces quite excited me.

And so I made a bunch

And now I just have to decide which one I want to keep for myself.

An Unexpected Quiet

I have been working about 70 hours per week for the past month,
and have missed having time and energy to create.

Today I didn't work, and I have been busy creating.

Paint, pastels, and ink meet up on these tea bags,
creating a piece that I am donating for a
fund raiser for our local ski club.

The frame the ski club provided me is a deep frame,
so I decided I needed to add some natural elements that have some depth.
So a couple of rocks and a beach stick were added.

And it is now headed to the fundraiser that is taking place in a couple of days.

I called it 'An Unexpected Quiet'
Perhaps that is because that is what it gave me as I worked on it
or perhaps because that is what the place that the image depicts gives to me.

Either way I have enjoyed An Unexpected Quiet today.

Stone Pins

I have taken some small stones
added some of my birds
and put a pin on the back

They can be worn alone

with a friend

or in a group.

More Of The Same

I have been very busy at the day job,
with very little creative time lately.
But finally finished up a couple more soft covered books.

The black stamp is from a hand carved stamp I made some time ago.

I decided to try and dye the pages,
and like how they turned out.

Fabric Book

This beautiful piece of hand printed fabric arrived at my house over a year ago.
It was an unexpected gift from Julie Booth

I used it as the base for this soft covered book

And I still have more of her fabulous fabric to play with.
