Veronica has kindly hosted our drawing challenge this week
and has provided us the theme 'VEIN'.
As I have studied more botany then anatomy,
I associated veins with leaves.
"Veins provide support for the leaf
and transport water, minerals and food energy
through the leaf and on to the rest of the plant."
I created a miniature book
with pages covered with paint and ink
and leaves covered with veins.
I hope to find the perfect quote
to write a few words
on each of the pages.
To see more interpretations of 'VEIN' be sure to visit Veronica.
This little book is so lovely and I would love to have a go with something similar. It looks achievable. What paper have you used? The rough edges just finish it off beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alison - I am glad you like it, I enjoyed making it. The paper is pages from an old book that I painted over with white acrylic paint. Once they are dry I added a bit of ink that I rubbed in. The pages are folded and torn once they are dry.
Deletethe rough edges, the stitching, it looks so tactile, a beauty already Kim
ReplyDeleteI love your interpretation of 'Vein' and such another lovely tactile book, Kim.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely Kim. A stunningly beautiful and precious little book for some keepable quotes. It's been ages since I made myself a little book and now you've inspired me. Now all I have to do is find some tome. :D
