Creating with Tea Bags. . . . . Again

As many of you probably know
I love creating with tea bags.

But... it seems like it has been a while since I have created with them.
So I started off by adding a few of my photographs to tea bags
thinking I would have time to make a whole stack.

.... and here is the ONE I managed to finish!

It started with this photo

and then I added some collage bits, paint, wax and pen marks.

I am not sure when I will get time to create with the rest of them.... but I am hoping that it is soon!

Although I love blogging it doesn't seem like I get to it as often as I would like,
and therefore have started posting on Instagram.

Feel free to follow along with my creations there if you would like. (click the link below!)

Bookmaking...... Again!

I love using photographs I have taken in my creations.
I took this photograph a year or two ago, but recently played with it on my computer.

I choose a small section of it, changed the colours and
used it to decorate the cover of this book.

I printed off a mirror image of this photograph I took and
added some ink and paint for another book cover.

I manipulated an image of some trees on my computer and
then added some subtle bits of colour by hand for this cover.

And for the final one of this bookmaking spree, I added some paint
and ink to a photograph of some flowers and grasses.

I have so many other images that are waiting to be played with.
Now I just have to find some time!

Mixed Media Play

I am back to playing with
 little bits of paper
that I add to with paint and pastel and ink and graphite
or whatever else is within reach.

True mixed media pieces that I am loving playing with.

And once I finished playing with the messy supplies,
I played some more on my computer.

Winter Photos

Winter is on its way out
but I had to share a few more of my photographs
from a beautiful winter day.

Although I love winter
I am happy that the days are getting longer,
and the snow is melting.

Onwards to spring and summer!

Storytelling With Collage

This new book,
arrived at my house this week
and I am leisurely enjoying every page and story.

Roxanne shares so much in this beautiful book
with lots of her beautiful images, words
and inspiration for creative endeavours.

She also includes many works by collage artists.

I am so thrilled and honoured to have my work included in this beautiful book.

New Stamps from Seth Apter

Seth Apter is a mixed media artist,
author, teacher and art community maker/gatherer.
He is just releasing a new line of stamps,
and sent me the set 'Pattern Play' to have fun with.

The set includes - 'Mosaic Tile'

'Bar Code'

and 'Birch Bark'

I played in my usual style of stamping onto a variety of papers

Which I proceeded to rip into tiny pieces and glue together.

My 'Patterned Play' stamped bits became
a patterned landscape that my trees grew from.

Here you can see the backside of my accordion book
decorated with a long strip of 'Birch Bark' decorated tea bag.

After completing this creation,
I still had pieces of stamped paper sitting on my desk

So created some little houses with the little bits.
And then stamped a bigger background piece
to put behind them.

The little bits of paper were getting smaller,
but I thought they would look beautiful
decorating a paper pulp bowl
that was waiting patiently on my art desk.

I love the lines that each of these stamps create,
and know that they will be showing up in a variety of my creations.

As I write this I haven't seen the other stamps or creations that other people have created, but am excited to check out the following links!
