A Bit Dotty

Not long ago I saw some lovely handmade cards in a store. The cards had small squares of paper that had been cut out of a book and the person had drawn onto them. Those cards inspired me to make this book.
(I love keeping track of where inspiration comes from!)
The book has a soft cover that I made with layers of paper, fabric and glue and is finished with a layer of paste wax.
The cover is decorated with a circle I cut out of an old book that I doodled onto.
and I liked it so much that I added one inside...
and then I went a bit dotty by deciding
to add a doodled on dot
to the centre of each of the 50 pages in the book.
I haven't decided if I will just add a few typewritten words to each page, or if I will handwrite around the dots.... or if this book will go to someone else to do with as they please.

  1. Very nice. Love the simplicity of it.

  2. I like the idea of passing the book on to someone else. But will they add to it? It is wonderful as it is.

  3. I agree. it is lovely the way it is. Very zen.

  4. What a lovely idea. Hope you got my reply to your comment on my blog. Thank's again for the tip on the cold wax.

  5. What a lovely book, the cover is just wondrous the way it looks soft and flexible. And your art in the circle.... love that too.

  6. Lovely work Kim! I like that you are aware of where your inspiration came from. There is such a flow to the piece. I like it a lot! N, xo

  7. Paper has such possibilities. Your little book is so sweet. . . just beckoning for a few words on the page!

  8. Your creative mind never ceases to amaze me Kim. This is awesome.

  9. splendid!
it's all in the details often, and you're a dab hand at that!
    i have a query:
you play, next weekend? this is the invitation!

  10. this is so smile making... : )
