Driving, Hockey and Earrings

The last few days have been full of driving, watching hockey, and making earrings. My daughter plays hockey on a team 100 miles away, so three days of hockey makes life pretty full. This upcoming week she has 4 days of hockey - lots of hockey and therefore lots of driving means very little time to create. But fortunately for me I have taken some time off of the day job, so I did manage to finish up some earrings.

This is where I have been sitting lately....

and this is what I have been creating..... etched earrings.

Most of the earrings I have made with different shapes of metal

etched with different designs

or script.

On a few pairs I decided to add some beads to the bottom.

And these ones - I am debating whether it should just have the pearl below the metal, or whether I should add a small piece of silk.

What do you think? With or without the silk?

  2. These are just so great, Kim. I would go for the silk ones but I think the others are more mainstream. Only a certain type (my type) is going for my "shabbier" designs I'm finding so is there a way you can display both types? Are they going to be sold online or in person. I think the online types are more up to date with the silky shabby style and the locals may be more traditional. What do you think?
I also would like to know your process for etching, They knock me out with the possibilities.
Great that your daughter is playing hockey. i did for a few years here in my 30's and it was a blast!

  3. Hey Kim, in your first photo I really love the ones on the far right ... dragonfly maybe? and the ones with the red beads dangling are perfect!
I think without the silk lets the earring shine on its own. They are all so beautiful.
So happy that you've had some play time along with all the drive time!

  4. I agree with NuminosityBeads. Both have their place for different buyers. Why don't you offer both and see which sells best? They are all lovely!
