Paper Box Frames

I finally finished these little bit collages that I shared on my previous post.

They will be part of a show in a Yukon gallery with the title of 'Light'.

Therefore I wanted to keep the frames light both physically and in look.
I also wanted the frame edges to be rustic and worn looking - similar to the paper edges.

My desire was to have the pieces float above the false back of the box.

This was tricky to achieve and took too much time - but I like the final look.

I put a small string through the back of the box,
so these pieces can hang on a wall, or stand on a shelf.

And here they all are - ready to head off to the gallery!

Sewn Leaf Cards

I created a few more cards this week.

I took bits of my handmade paper
and tea stained and dyed some pieces.

I glued the handmade paper bits onto cardstock
and sewed leaf patterns onto them.

The leaf pattern is visible on the outside and inside of the card.

Another batch of cards ready to be packaged.

Letting in Some Light

I needed to create today....
even though I had many chores that were supposed to get done.

So I took a piece of my handmade paper
added layers of paint
and then with pencil, charcoal and pen had some fun creating.

I put it behind a mat to see if it was finished
and after some small tweaks, decided it was.

The process of creating brightens my day.

Collaged Birds

I attended an arts festival last week,
in which I demonstrated how I make
animal collages.

I began this bird at the demonstration,
but found I ended up adding lots more
bits and pieces too him once I got home.
I forgot to take any pictures of it before the final bits were added.

All of the bits of paper in this collage
are from papers that I decorated
by colouring and stamping and mark making onto.
(tea bags, tissue, my handmade paper)
I prefer using paper I have decorated in my collages
but occasionally a bit of old envelope of something
also appears.

This was the next piece I created during my demonstration
It too was added to once I was home.
(once again I have no before picture)

You can see bits of papers using Seth's stamps
....in  the legs, wing, tail, ground & behind the eye and the beak.

Collage Fun - Just Tear and Paste!

I then had a bit of fun playing with these birds on my computer.

Collages Take 2

Collages Again!

Handmade paper and tea bag paper that I have decorated,
is still capturing my attention.

Also using some of my hand carved stamps.

Small Collages.....
but not as small as the little ones I have been adding to cards

There may still be some more collage creations.....

Little Bits Collages

I have had only little bits of creative time lately.

So I have been using little bits of the paper  I decorated

to make little bits collages.

Which I have then been making into cards.

To give them a bit of dimension,
I have also added little bits of stitching to them.

And as you can see I can't seem to stop making them!

A perfect way to spend my little bits of creative time!
