but when I look back at what I managed to create, admist my very very busy life, I am happy.
To help me remember what I created this year, I picked a number of images from this past year, and put them together in a collage. I looked at each image, and remembered so clearly the making of that item, and the enjoyment it provided me.
I drew, and painted - I made books, and worked in plaster. I played with teabags, and made some jewellery.
This is a really good exercise, when we’re feeling low, or the dreaded nay-sayer is screaming loudly in our head. To look back at all we’ve created. We forget. And seeing it all gathered together is good. Good for the soul, good for the ego, and a good kick in the pants to get us going again. Thanks, Kim. I think I’ll do the same! Here's to a great 2012!

Just wonderful & I can't wait to follow along. I plan to make a mosaic for last yrs weekly collage, if I could just remember how to do the things! Happy 2012!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea - the collage really shows you've not just made some beautiful things - you've created a body of work. You can see the co-hesiveness in the colors and composition. 2011 was a good year for you and the lucky people who now own some of your work.
ReplyDeleteHope your 2012 is filled with lots of creative moments too!
Happy New Year!
Pretty awesome all the things you have made....Happy 2012 to you too....
ReplyDeleteI so agree with Judy's comment. What could be better as an artist that to catalogue one's work. You see your interests in the past which can lead to interests and new ideas in 2012...Great Idea...we should all try this, just to keep track of ourselves!!! smiles: sharon
