Loving It.....

"To be successful, the first thing you must do

is fall in love with your work."

Sister Mary Lauretta

(From Misty Mawn's book "Unfurling")

This book sits on top of our piano, and I have been itching to make a similar one. So using some drawings I did in the past, as well as the ones I drew a week or so ago, I made a new accordian book.
Here is the frontcover, when it is all tied up and waiting to be opened and explored.

And the back cover.....

And when it is open, you can see all of its contents, at once....

or look at it...

bit .....

by bit.

I really enjoyed making this, and am LOVING how it turned out!

  7. Kim - this is just gorgeous. You've taken a simple accordion book and made it an amazing piece of art! Love your birds and the colors, -- the ribbon enclosure -- it is extraordinary! Did you use a layer of beeswax?

  8. Thanks for all of your wonderful comments. They make me so happy. It is always nice to know that others like the same things you do. In answer to Judy's question. No it doesn't have a layer of beeswax, but I did rub a layer of paste wax (Dorland's Wax) onto the covers, and buff it to a nice finish.
